Man Who Killed a Pedestrian and Caused Several Accidents Goes to Jail

A man who killed a pedestrian while running a red light at an intersection, fled one accident, and ran from the police after a crash is facing several charges in Las Vegas, including felony DUI causing death.

Forty-one-year-old Stephen Huddleston of Las Vegas is at the Clark County jail pending his first court appearance after his arrest on Sunday afternoon.

Huddleston will get a lawyer for his case. The police informed that Huddleston showed signs of impairment when he got arrested after a foot chase.

The forty-six-year-old woman of Las Vegas who died after Huddleston hit her, was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. The Clark County coroner did not reveal her identity.

Huddleston had a passenger in his vehicle, fifty-nine-year-old Zendell Huddleston, who had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, where she was treated.

Police are still investigating whether Huddlestone’s vehicle was involved in another accident at Boulder Highway and Nellis Avenue, which occurred shortly before the pedestrian was hit and killed.

Pedestrian and car accidents are very common in Nevada. The state is ranked as the 10th most dangerous state for pedestrians, and Clark County is also on the blacklist.

While you are never 100% safe in a vehicle, if you are a pedestrian, you are at even bigger risk because there is nothing that protects you.

If you were injured in a pedestrian or car accident, the law gives you the right to seek compensation for your injuries. Even if you lost a loved one, you could still file a claim against the responsible party.
