An older man died after a fatal car accident caused by a drunken driver early on Saturday morning.
North Las Vegas Police officers headed to the intersection of Alicante Parkway early on Saturday morning (about 4:30 a.m.), where they found a seventy-two-year-old man unresponsive. The man died after a car crashed directly in his vehicle. The driver, who caused the accident, forty-six-year-old Anthony Peniston, was drunk driving his Mercedes sedan.
Police informed that Peniston did not stop at a stop sign and hit another vehicle, a Ford Escape driven by the seventy-two-year-old man.
The drunk driver was booked into Las Vegas City Jail for causing death while driving under the influence and reckless driving with death or substantial bodily harm.
So far, this was the ninth traffic-related death for NLVPD this year. The man who died in the accident is not identified. His identity will be exposed by the Clark County Coroner’s Office once his closest relatives are informed about the tragedy.
