LAS VEGAS, NV – Police have arrested Cameron Hubbard-Jones, the father of the baby who was killed Sunday, for street racing with the child’s mother.
The Las Vegas Sun reported that Hubbard-Jones was driving at least 100 mph, allegedly trying to race Lauren Prescia’s car, which was carrying their child.
Prescia was driving 121 mph at the time of the crash, which ejected her baby from the vehicle. One-year-old Royce Hubbard-Jones died instantly, still strapped into his car seat.
Cameron Hubbard-Jones was arrested Wednesday and faces a felony count of reckless driving causing the death of a juvenile.
Prescia is currently out on bail but faces charges of DUI resulting in death, reckless driving, and child abuse or neglect.
Metro Sgt. Paul McCullough is investigating the accident and called it “disgusting” and “unbelievable.”
