LAS VEGAS, NV – The driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on July 30 surrendered himself to police on Tuesday and is expected to be charged with the murder of 43-year-old Latoya Lampkin.
8 News Now reported that Jacob Lainez was driving a 2006 Toyota 4-Runner south on Decatur Blvd when he struck Lampkin’s 2004 Hyundai Elantra, which was heading east on Carmen Blvd. Lampkin died instantly. It is not clear whether Lainez was impaired at the time of the collision.
After striking Lampkin’s vehicle, Lainez fled the scene without rendering aid or notifying the authorities.
